ABOUT SAIPUA

Saipua matriarch, Susan Ryhanen began making soap as a hobby in 1999 in her basement using olive oil from the grocery store and a shoebox as a mold. The hobby grew into a small business called Creekside Soaps which sold soap as well as custom engineered soap making supplies, designed by Susan's husband Pentti.

In 2004 Susan’s daughter Sarah and her partner Eric suggested a re-branding of the soap - and SAIPUA (derived from the Finnish word for soap ‘saippua’ and a nod to Pentti’s heritage) was formed. For almost two decades, soap has served as a backbone for the myriad endeavors at SAIPUA and Worlds End Farm.

Worlds End is 107 acres of rocky clay soil 40 miles west of Albany located on ancestral Mohawk land. It is first and foremost a home to several artists, writers and gardeners. The land is managed as a small-scale diversified homestead farm. Their goal is to make the land productive for the dietary and creative needs of those who live and work here, while improving the overall health of the soil and water for the benefit of the surrounding ecosystem.

RETURN POLICY

Exchange or store credit is available on eligible (please see final sale items, below) full-priced items with a receipt within 15 days of purchase. No refunds, and no price adjustments for previously purchased merchandise. Items must qualify for exchange, and be unworn and in original condition - including packaging. Any jewelry that has been custom-ordered, modified or sized we are unable to accept for exchange.

To ensure we offer the highest quality items to our customers and abide by sanitary standards, the following categories of products are not eligible for exchange and are FINAL SALE:

All fragrance and apothecary sales are final. Fragrance is a personal, hygienic product, and once a bottle has left the shop we can't resell it — even unopened — with the same confidence we owe the next customer.

Once an order is placed, we cannot guarantee that it may be cancelled. Please reach out to us immediately if you need to cancel your order.

SHIPPING COSTS

Shipping costs are non-refundable. If complimentary shipping was received by the customer, any exchange or store credit will be in the amount of the item(s), less a $5-20 processing charge.

Refused shipments are not eligible for refund.
