Vetyver is a perfume in and of itself. Qualities vary heavily due to how long the roots of this grass are distilled, the Haitian is the finest. It has a coffee roasted peanut tone over straw-toned grass. Earthy and green, but it also screams yellow like the color of the finest distillates. Vetyver can be the base of almost anything from florals to woods. Vetiver from Indonesia is ashier like caramelized smoke.

Lime oil provides zest and freshness with the added bonus of giving us a green top note. Limes get along with flowers, chypres, and earthy fragrances. Lime flowers smell of green orange blossom and are a nice accord in colognes.

D.S. & Durga scents are crafted by hand in small batches using balsams, resins, plant oils and premium perfume ingredients.

LINER NOTES

Music is essential to life. I was born in a house of blues—dad’s from Chicago. At 9 I went to camp on an island. Cool older punk kids showed me the Misfits and the Pixies. (One of those kids was actually comedian Rob Delaney).

That summer was ruled by Doolittle. The provocative lyrics. The cackle of Frank Black. I absorbed it in the summer heat. August humidity. Young romance. - D.S.

D.S. & Durga believes the power of scent is equal to that of sight and sound. A great perfume is a keyhole into another realm; an invisible landscape that you can enter and explore any time.

Kavi and David: David (a.k.a D.S.) is a self-taught perfumer who created his own aromatic language—a rarity in the perfume industry. Kavi (a.k.a Durga) is a trained architect who builds buildings for our scents and cities for our universe.

Each of their fumes is a rich narrative. All that they love in music, art, nature, and design told aromatically. Their scents are fragments of half-remembered myths and imaginary landscapes that invite exploration. Liner notes, playlists, images, graphics, and films expand upon the world inside the glass.
