Girl of the Year is an exploration into the private enclaves of the woman, off film, away from parties, protected from the flash of the camera. It is the quiet moments between calls and engagements, the space reserved for nestling into your memories.
Artifacts of a life being lived populate your space, untidy and endearing: the leather jacket left behind by a lover lazily draped on the sofa, your vanity clumsy with perfumes and jewelry, the littered ashtray on your windowsill. Every article of clothing and tube of lipstick a talisman of self expression and protection becomes a souvenir of the moment, iconic of an era. From the solitude of your dressing table, you stare at your reflection with no one else to see. The phone rings.

Thin Wild Mercury is a fine fragrance line that draws from the many vibrant cultural eras of Los Angeles and New York, eliciting at once the factually historical and the purely fantastical. In a 1978 interview, Bob Dylan described his 1966 seminal album Blonde on Blonde as having "...that thin, that wild mercury sound." While Dylan found the inspiration for this spirited description of his work through his band's lively, uninhibited performances of it at the time, ours is rooted in the illustrious history of the famous coastal cities; their renowned neighborhoods and hangouts and the nowadays fabled eras of their 20th century lifespan – told aromatically.
Thin Wild Mercury has a simple, traditional ethos of the masters: do it yourself. TWM's fragrances are like nuanced stories redolent of particular places and times of the past eloquently told by musings from the present. The result is something like a state of mind for the senses – for anywhere, anytime.
