Subtle Bodies' Sandalwood comes from a sustainable plantation in the semi-arid grassland regions of Western Australia.

For tens of thousands of years, the Indigenous Australian use of sandalwood has been deeply intertwined within cultural practice. This aromatic tree has played a significant role, often serving as a sacred element in ceremonies, a source of traditional medicine, and a valuable resource for trade - its distinctive aroma believed to possess spiritual and healing properties.

All Subtle Bodies incense sticks are pure wood products with no added perfume or fragrance. Each burns with a distinct, yet delicately scented smoke trail.

Unlike other incense on the market, their Japanese style sticks have only two ingredients; the fragrant wood as their name suggests and a natural binding wood from either Machilus thunbergii, Litsea glutinosa or Phoebe zhennan.
