Naturally Beautiful Skin with Living Libations + Indie Lee

Naturally Beautiful Skin with Living Libations + Indie Lee

We are thrilled to offer Living Libations and Indie Lee within our brick and mortar shop in downtown San Luis Obispo, CA as well as inside our online shop. These two natural skincare lines offer a full spectrum of products addressing all skin types and conditions both gently and effectively! We are big believers in natural skincare, given that the skin is the body’s largest organ and whatever products are used on it are absorbed directly into the bloodstream. It's clear to see that this makes the use of natural, non-harmful products all the more important!

Indie Lee offers a chic, straightforward natural line of cleansers, toner, moisturizing oils, scrubs and acne treatments. A cult-favorite, the Indie Lee line has been featured in the press for its ability to effectively bring balance to the skin with products that are formulated without harmful chemicals. Here in the shop, we’ve been particularly impressed with Indie Lee’s Brightening Cleanser, CoQ-10 Toner and Squalene Oil, each of which can be used on all skin types.

Living Libations is known for its botanically based products, featuring the highest quality organic essential and cold-pressed oils that nature offers. Because of the attention given to sourcing ingredients and the resulting formulations, every ingredient in a Living Libations product is viewed as “active” - which is great news for your skin and your wallet, as only a very small amount of product is needed for each application. We are particularly in love with their Seabuckthorn Facial Oil and Rose Best Skin Ever Facial Oil, each of which can be used as an all-in-one cleanser, makeup remover, exfoliator, moisturizer, and hair oil!

In the shop, we get lots of questions about cleansing - what cleanser for what skin type, how to oil cleanse, etc! We have been loving oil cleansing in the morning using Living Libations Best Skin Ever, which leaves the skin moisturized, refreshed, balanced and ready for the day ahead. We like the Rose Best Skin Ever Facial Oil for dry, inflamed and/or mature skin - rose offers a deeply calming, radiant, firming effect. The Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever Facial Oil can be used on any skin type, but is especially beneficial for normal, combination, oily, and even acne-prone skin, as it calms redness, balances oil production and moisturizes skin without stripping it (doing so can actually increase oil production, causing more blemishes).

To oil cleanse, we like to use the Living Libations method:

  1. Wet a small portion of a cloth with water.
  2. Apply one to two squirts of either Rose or Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever to the dampened portion of the face cloth.
  3. Gently massage the face, neck and back of the neck with the moistened cloth. Wash gently or wash vigorously for a deeper exfoliating effect. Rinsing the face is optional.

In the evening, we love Indie Lee cleansers to remove makeup, deeply cleanse and soften the skin for nighttime. We like the Rosehip Cleanser for mature, dry, or rosacea-affected skin types, as it gentle yet thorough, calming and refreshing. The Brightening Cleanser is ideal for combination, hyper-pigmented and/or oily skin, featuring a lovely strawberry scent and active ingredients that wash away impurities and focus on brightening and softening the complexion. For a bonus exfoliating treatment, leave the Brightening Cleanser on as a mask for 5 minutes!

After cleansing and toning, just 2-3 drops of the Indie Lee Squalene Oil makes a great light moisturizer, or can be mixed with other active oil-based serums. Squalene oil is wonderful for every skin type as it absorbs seamlessly into the skin, bringing balance and offering a natural retinol-like effect that evens skin tone over time!

With just one to a few of these good for you / good for the earth products, you can easily begin to cultivate the most naturally beautiful skin of your life!
