ARTIST BIO:
Communion - noun. The act of sharing one's thoughts and emotions with another or others; intimate converse
Joy has been sculpting jewelry for over 10 years. She has always loved art since she was a child. She studied some art history in college and dabbled in painting and drawing. But her calling for jewelry design came when she worked at an art gallery and realized that she wanted to be the artist. After working in a gallery, Joy decided it was time to tap into her own artistic side. She started taking lost-wax carving classes at night and she was hooked! Joy loved the idea of being able to sculpt anything she wanted. I feel my brand empowers strength with feminine elegance. It is modern vintage with a touch of bohemian flair.

Joys inspiration comes from nature and the mystery behind the veil of life. This is a feeling sh tries to capture with her designs. When she give her attention to the life around her inspiration follows.
"I love ritual and symbolism. I find my inspiration communing with the spirit in nature, animals and people. I love to make jewelry that carries an energy of inner-strength and contains the power from the design or the stones I set into them.  I keep my creative fire going by connecting to people and their stories. I feel women who wear my jewelry have a strong sense of self and portray that in their style. They consist of women who have a penchant for art, travel and the spirit of life. These women accentuate their look with conversational pieces of jewelry. The Communion woman is a lover and collector of jewelry, who connects emotionally to the pieces they buy".

"I meditate before creating my designs and allow myself to be used as a creative vessel. All pieces are ethically sourced made from recycled gold, slightly one-of-a-kind and unique"-Joy
